The game pages score one game each. These are about the questions that sit across all of them — what “cost” means, and which parts of it nobody publishes.

• Can you read the odds before you pay?

  Every store requires publishers to disclose loot box odds, and mostly they do — somewhere. We checked every game on this site to see which ones put the numbers where you can read them before installing anything. One publisher has a page called Pack Probabilities that contains none.

• “How much does this game cost” is four questions

  The price of entry, the price to reach the ending, the price to stay competitive, and the price to finish the collection. Publishers answer the first one. For the other three the honest answer is sometimes that nobody knows — including us.
